Class of 2030

Penn’s 287th academic year formally kicked off with Convocation, where Penn President J. Larry Jameson declared the start of the Class of 2030’s “Penn odyssey.”

As part of the New Student Orientation welcome experience, new students kicked off their inaugural campus weekend with movie nights, College House meetings, campus tours and an open-mic, culminating in a night at the National Constitution Center and an afterparty at Houston Hall.

President J. Larry Jameson, Provost John L. Jackson, Jr., and the Glee Club welcomed first-year and transfer students and their families to Penn.

The majority of first-year students began their Penn journey on Tuesday, Aug. 18, with the annual Move-In ritual, which runs like clockwork thanks to Move-In volunteers and staff and eases the transition for first-year students leaving the nest and kicking off their lives as undergraduates.
