PHILADELPHIA -- Andrea Mitchell and Dr. Rosemary Mazanet have been named co-chairs of the University of Pennsylvania’s Making History: The Campaign for Penn. 

 PHILADELPHIA -- The University of Pennsylvania today announced one of its smallest tuition increases in 42 years -– 3.8 percent -– while reaffirming its commitment to its innovative no-loan financial-aid program. Penn will expand its financial-aid budget for the coming year by $15 million, or 11 percent, to $149 million.

PHILADELPHIA –- Amy Gutmann, president of the University of Pennsylvania, has been selected by President Obama to chair the Presidential Commission for the Study of Bioethical Issues.

 

The University of Pennsylvania has become the first Ivy League school to partner with The Posse Foundation, which recruits and trains young people from urban high schools and sends them to top-tier colleges and universities as multicultural groups of 10 called "Posses."

 PHILADELPHIA -- Shelley L. Berger has been named the 10th Penn Integrates Knowledge University Professor at the University of Pennsylvania.

PHILADELPHIA -- Karen Glanz, a globally influential public-health scholar, has been named the ninth Penn Integrates Knowledge University Professor at the University of Pennsylvania.

 PHILADELPHIA – Denis F. Kinane has been named dean of the School of Dental Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania, effective July 1.
