The University of Pennsylvania will remember Martin Luther King Jr. with its 21st annual MLK Commemorative Symposium on Social Change, a series of nearly 30 community events, Jan. 18-Feb. 4.

WHAT:   The University of Pennsylvania will host its annual Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service. Activities coordinated by Penn’s African-American Resource Center include a volunteer breakfast, community-service projects, community workshops and a candlelight vigil.

Two students from the University of Pennsylvania and two Penn alumni are among 111 recipients of the inaugural Schwarzman Scholarships. The award funds one year of graduate studies at Tsinghua University in Beijing for each recipient. More than 3,000 people applied for the highly competitive program.
