President Amy Gutmann participated in a Q&A session with Wharton Dean Geoff Garrett and approximately 2,000 students as part of the new course dedicated to the coronavirus crisis called Epidemics, National Disasters, and Geopolitics: Managing Global Business and Financial Uncertainty.

Class of 2020 President’s Engagement and Innovation Prize winners announced

Awarded annually, the Prizes empower Penn students to design and undertake post-graduation projects that make a positive, lasting difference in the world, and are the largest of their kind in higher education.

Penn Trustees approve 2020-21 tuition; financial aid budget expands support for middle-income families

At its meeting today, the University of Pennsylvania Board of Trustees approved a 3.9% increase in tuition for the coming year, while also approving a record $256 million undergraduate financial aid budget, the largest financial aid budget in Penn’s history.

Wharton names first female dean

Erika James of Emory University has been named the new dean of the Wharton School. “A passionate and visible champion of the power of business and business education to positively transform communities locally, nationally, and globally, she is exceptionally well-prepared to lead Wharton into the next exciting chapter of its storied history,” said President Amy Gutmann.

The dean of the Goizueta Business School at Emory University will begin her new position as dean of the Wharton School effective July 1.

Michael Horowitz named director of Perry World House and Richard Perry Professor

As director of Perry World House, Horowitz will lead the center which was founded in 2015 for scholarly inquiry, teaching, research, international exchange, policy engagement, and public outreach on pressing global issues.
