PHILADELPHIA -- Two recent renovations on the University of Pennsylvania campus have been certified LEED Gold this month by the U.S. Green Building Council: The School of Arts and Sciences’ Music Building at 202 S. 34th St., and Joe’s Café, a new eatery in the Wharton School’s Steinberg-Dietrich Hall.

CURF is proud to announce a Penn record-tying 7 Thouron Award winners! Grace Ambrose will graduate in 2011 from the College of Arts & Sciences with a BA in the History of Art, as well as a minor in Creative Writing. She has worked at the Whitney Museum in New York and the Institute of Contemporary Art in Philadelphia, and plans to study Curation while in the UK.

PHILADELPHIA- The 40,000 vacant parcels in Philadelphia cause $3.6 billion in reduced property values, cost more than $20 million per year in city maintenance and nets the city  $70 million less in property taxes, according to a report on the vacant land management system in Philadelphia released this month by the Redevelopment Authority of the City of Philadelphia.
