A new study from Penn’s School of Nursing finds that safer nurse staffing levels in Pennsylvania hospitals could prevent thousands of deaths each year.

While social and economic factors are often viewed as primary drivers of health, a new Penn Nursing analysis suggests that the relationship between societal position and physical well-being is more complex than previously understood.

In May, Penn Washington partnered with the Penn Artificial Intelligence and Technology Collaboratory for Healthy Aging and Penn Nursing to examine the use of Artificial Intelligence tools to support aging and improve the quality of life of older adults and their families, including persons with Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias.

Casey Benchimol, a nurse practitioner at the Mazzoni Center and lecturer in Penn Nursing, highlights her early interest in labor and delivery, postpartum care, and reproductive health with a focus on LGBTQIA+ health.

In partnership with Penn’s School of Nursing, the VinUniversity Bachelor of Nursing program was officially granted initial accreditation by the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing, marking the first time a nursing program in Vietnam has met the rigorous standards required for U.S. accreditation.
