Penn Sets Tuition for 2007-2008 Academic Year

PHILADELPHIA -- Total undergraduate charges for tuition, fees and room and board at the University of Pennsylvania will increase 4.9 percent for the 2007-2008 academic year, bringing the total cost of an undergraduate year to $46,124.  The increase was approved today by Penn's Board of Trustees.

PHILADELPHIA -- Expanding its effort to alleviate the financial burden on low- and middle-income students and to continue attract top students with diverse economic backgrounds, the University of Pennsylvania will provide grants for undergraduate students from economically disadvantaged families with incomes of $50,000 or less, Penn President Amy Gutmann announced today.

Penn Graduate School of Education Center Receives $4.9 Million Annenberg Grant for Leadership Initiative

PHILADELPHIA - The University of Pennsylvania's Center for Educational Leadership has received a $4.9 million grant from the Annenberg Foundation to launch the Distributed Leadership Initiative, a four-year collaboration with the Philadelphia School District to promote shared leadership at the individual school level.The Center is part of Penn's Graduate School of Education.

An Envelope Yields a Big Surprise at Penn: $14 Million

PHILADELPHIA University of Pennsylvania President Amy Gutmann got the surprise of her Penn life when, at a dinner for students and scholarship donors, Penn Trustee George Weiss handed her an envelope on which he had written, "Have a nice day, Amy!" Inside was a check for $14 million, earmarked for one of Gutmann passions, undergraduate financial aid.
