On a peerless fall Saturday, 32 of the University of Pennsylvania’s student Eco Reps took up rakes, shovels and shears to aide Bartram’s Garden in Southwest Philadelphia.

With 6,700 University of Pennsylvania students residing on campus, reaching them with the message to live a more sustainable lifestyle has great potential for ecological impact. To engage this population, Penn’s Green Campus Partnership has launched the Green Living Certification program as part of its continued commitment to build a culture of sustainability throughout all parts of University life. 

Golkin Hall, the newest addition to the four-building University of Pennsylvania Law School campus, has been awarded LEED Gold status for new construction by the U.S.

Heading to college for the first time can be an anxious time. Beyond the hard work of packing and moving to campus, nerves can be frazzled. For some, it is the first time they’ll be living away from home. There are the emotional goodbyes, roommates meeting for the first time and a whole new campus to navigate.

On May 22, Penn will host an in-person Commencement Ceremony for those curtailed by COVID-19.
