Fifty years after the passage of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, Dr. Thomas Sugrue, a leading historian of the struggle for racial equality, challenges the myths surrounding Martin Luther King Jr. and his politics; explores his relationship to conservatives, moderates, liberals and radicals; and reexamines his vision for racial and economic justice.
The talk is part of the Penn Lightbulb Café, a free public-lecture series presented by the School of Arts & Sciences and the Office of University Communications that takes arts, humanities and social-sciences scholarship out of the classroom for a night on the town. The effectiveness of this approach has led some countries and states to expand or consider expanding the role of dental providers in delivering routine vaccines, including those against COVID-19 and the human papillomavirus (HPV), and in providing vaccine education.
Penn student develops a way for computer chips to run more efficiently
Fluid Silicon, a platform from President’s Sustainability Prize winner Nhlanhla Mavuso, allows computer chips to continuously monitor their health and self-tune as their characteristics change. The technology has the potential to reduce energy usage in data centers and improve reliability in mission-critical applications.
