Goya's Los Caprichos at Penn's Arthur Ross Gallery
PHILADELPHIA - The University of Pennsylvania's Arthur Ross Gallery welcomes the works of Francisco Jose Goya y Lucientes in its new exhibit that runs from Oct. 27 until Jan. 7.
Born in Aragon in 1746, the artist executed perhaps his most famous body of work in Los Caprichos. The prints are on loan from the collection of Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Ross, in celebration of the 25th anniversary of the association between the Arthur Ross Foundation and the University of Pennsylvania.
This new exhibit of first-edition prints which are rarely seen addresses elements of Spanish society criticized by the Enlightenment: the Inquisition, corruption, witchcraft, child rearing, superstitions and relationships.
Gallery hours are Tuesday through Friday, 10 a.m.-5 p.m., and weekends from noon to 5 p.m.

Penn student develops a way for computer chips to run more efficiently
Fluid Silicon, a platform from President’s Sustainability Prize winner Nhlanhla Mavuso, allows computer chips to continuously monitor their health and self-tune as their characteristics change. The technology has the potential to reduce energy usage in data centers and improve reliability in mission-critical applications.
